நிரஞ்சனா, பத்திரிகையாளராகப் பணியைத் தொடங்கிப் பின்னர் புவியியலாளராக மாறியவர். சென்னையின் நீர்நிலைகள் – ஏரிகள், ஆறுகள், கால்வாய்கள், சதுப்பு நிலங்கள், கடல் சார்ந்த வாழ்வியலை பற்றிக் கவனம் செலுத்திவருகிறார். அவர் லண்டன் குயின் மேரி பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் மனித புவியியல் கற்பித்து வருகிறார்.

பகத்சிங், ஒரு மானிடவியலர். புதுச்சேரியின் பிரெஞ்சு ஆய்வு நிறுவனத்தில் முதுமுனைவர் ஆய்வினை நிறைவு செய்துள்ளார். எண்ணூரில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்தவர், கடலோர மக்கள், பழங்குடிகளின் வாழ்வியல், பண்பாடு பற்றி ஆவணப்படுத்துவதில் கவனம் செலுத்தி வருகிறார். வடசென்னையின் சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதிப்புகள் பற்றி விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்தி வருகிறார்.

பழனி குமார், ஒரு தேர்ந்த ஒளிப்படப் பத்திரிக்கையாளர். விருதுகள் பல பெற்றுள்ளார். நீர்வழி சார்ந்த மக்களின் வாழ்க்கை, உழைப்பினை ஆவணப்படுத்தி வருகிறார். அவர் PARI (People’s Archive of Rural India)யில் தொடர்ந்து உழைக்கும் அடிதட்டு மக்களின் வாழ்க்கை பற்றிப் பதிவு செய்கிறார். மேலும் இளம் ஒளிப்படக் கலைஞர்களுக்குப் பயிற்சி அளித்து, சென்னையில் கண்காட்சிகளை நடத்தி வருகிறார்.

அந்தோனி குருஸ், புதுச்சேரியைச் சேர்ந்த ஓவியக் கலைஞர் ஆவார். அவரது படைப்புகள் அவரத வாழ்க்கைப் பயணம் போலவே கணிக்க முடியாதது. குருஸ் ஸ்டிக்கர் கலைஞராகவும், பதாகை வடிவமைப்பாளராகவும் தன் பணியைத் தொடங்கினார். பின்னர், சென்னையில் உள்ள பிரபலமான அச்சகம் ஒன்றில்  புத்தகம் வடிவமைத்தல் கலையின் அடிப்படைகளைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டார். சென்னையில் உள்ள நுண்கலை கல்லூரியில் முதுகலை மற்றும் இளம் முனைவர் பட்டம் பெற்றுள்ளார். தஞ்சாவூர் தமிழ் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் முனைவர் பட்ட ஆய்வை மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறார். 

சண்முகானந்தம் வடசென்னையில்  செயல்பட்டுவரும் எழுத்தாளர் மற்றும் பதிப்பாளர். சூழலியல் இலக்கியத்தில் அதிக ஆர்வம் கொண்டவர். அவர் வெளியிட்டு வரும் ‘உயிர்’ எனும் இரு மாத இதழில் இயற்கை பற்றிய கட்டுரைகளையும், அசத்தலான ஒளிப்படைகளையும் பதிப்பித்து வருகிறார். அவரது பதிப்பகத்தில் சூழலியல் அரசியல் நூல்களைத் தொடர்ந்து வெளியிட்டு வருகிறார்.

நித்யா, மானிடவியலில் முதுகலைப்பட்டம் பெற்றுள்ளார். கடலோர சமூக மக்களின் சமூகச் சிக்கல்கள், குறிப்பாக மீனவ பெண்களின் சமூக நிலை, உழைப்பு, பொருளாதாரம், பங்களிப்பு, எதிர்கொள்ளும் சவால்கள் தொடர்பாக ஆராய்ச்சி செய்து வருகிறார். 

Niranjana is a journalist turned geographer who’s interested in the many lives lived around Chennai’s myriad waters – lakes, rivers, canals, marshes, the sea. She teaches Human Geography in Queen Mary University of London. 

Bhagath Singh is a postdoctoral researcher based in the French Institute of Pondicherry. Born & raised in Ennore, he brings his academic expertise to support and organise around coastal environmental struggles. 

Palani Kumar is an award winning photo journalist and visual ethnographer documenting land, labour and life amidst the waterways. He reports for PARI (People’s Archive of Rural India) and has trained young photographers leading to an exhibition titled North Chennai, Reframed held at Chennai. 

Anthoni Guruz is an artist and graphic designer based in Puducherry. His life journey has been as unpredictable as the lines and directions that his art pursues. Anthoni started out as a sticker artist and banner designer before joining a well-known printing house in Chennai as a paginator, where he learnt the basics of bookmaking and graphic design. Working his way to the College of Fine Arts, Chennai, he graduated with an MFA and MPhil in Visual Communications. He is currently pursuing PhD research at Thanjavur Tamil University. 

Shanmuganantham is a publisher based in North Chennai. He is deeply interested in nature in the city and the wider world. He publishes a fortnightly magazine called Uyir, which features stunning photography of mundane urban nature, and other books, often Tamil translations of books on environmental politics from diverse languages. 

Nithya holds a master’s degree in anthropology and works as a part of research teams at the French Institute of Pondicherry. Her research focuses on coastal communities, gender and the livelihoods of fishers.
